Yes this should be corrected and it would be good to have the wiring and all the circuit connections inspected as well.
Running wires through your attic.
And use semi rigid wiring fish tape to pull your wiring down to your outlet location.
This hole can be patched once the wiring work is completed.
If you re working from the attic you can drop a weighted string down wall cavity then attach the wire to the string and pull it through.
Straighten about 12 ft.
Run the wires through the holes above their respective rooms.

If you will need to fish wiring through a wall drill a hole through the wood plate in the attic only.
Then to the opposite action have one person feed the cables down through the hole to the destination while another person pulls the cable out from the wall.
Protect the wall with a thin piece of cardboard etc.
Thread the cable through the holes.
And while loosely guiding the bit with one hand apply even pressure with the other holding the drill while running it.
When you reach each new box follow the stripping procedure shown in photo 7 push the conductors and about 1 4 in.
When you ve run all the wires up to the attic then bring each one to the hole that it has to feed down through.
Of sheathed cable into the box and staple the cable photo 8.
Of cable and thread it through the holes from one box to the next.
If drilling up through the ceiling expect to pass through a thin coat of plaster and 5 8 of sheet rock and 1 2 inch 1 3 cm of strapping to which the sheet rock is secured.
The attic wiring should be protected and secured to ceiling joists or other wood structural supports.
